Our Mission & Aims

Newbury Methodist Church will respond to the gospel of God’s love for all people by living out our calling through our worship, witness and mission. Specifically, our aims will be:-
1. Worship
a. To seek new and exciting ways of worship and set up a worship group
b. To encourage at least three people to become Worship Leaders or Local Preachers
.c. To enrich the prayer life of the church by providing more opportunities for corporate prayer.
d. To have a period of themed preaching.

2. Learning and Caring
a. To increase the number of people attending House-groups by 50% and thus build up the fellowship and spiritual growth of our members and others associated with the church.
b. To encourage attendance at the monthly Faith and Fellowship Meal.
 c. To encourage, support and develop our work with young people.

3. Service
a. To encourage links with the Parent & Toddler group.  
 b. To work with the other churches in the town in a variety of social local projects.

4. Evangelism

a. To look at opening the church on one morning a week.

b. To encourage the minister in his work with Speenhamland School and other outside groups and people.

c. To look at ways of reaching the 30 and 40 year olds and those outside the church and to increase church attendance by 10% over the period of the plan.

5. To support the other churches in the circuit and the overall Circuit plan.
